Research Committee Policy

The Research Committee was formed as per the UGC guidelines in the year 2016. The committee was formed under the guidance of the than Principal Uma Bhokmick and Majakhon Kamei, HOD, Department of Sociology. At present, it is headed by the Principal Dr. Santosh Kumar and Convenor Dr  Alomi Cynthia Shikhu.

THE MAIN AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH COMMITTEE ARE

1. To create academic environment in the college for the students
2. To promote research to keep the teachers in upgrading the pedagogies and teaching Skills
3. Provide platform for students to further their studies on research based activities
4. Promote and encourage research in certain thematic areas identified by the college
5. To encourage visiting scholar and college faculty for short term and long term benefits
6. Provide an ethical framework and quality control mechanism for research work
7. To identify funding agencies for research based activities for the students and teaching faculty
8. To publish annual college journal

ACTIVITIES TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES

1. The committee will strive to encourage students to contribute article writing in college journal
2. The committee will make an attempt to provide visiting scholars and faculty exchange program to encourage research atmosphere
3. To develop meaning linkage with research institutes and funding agencies
4. To organise on a regular basis national/ state level capacity building workshop/ Seminar focusing on research for students and faculty

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CONVENOR

1. The convenor should be a doctorate in any field
2. The convenor should be well versed with research studies
3. He/She should have the ability to encourage and create academic productive environment
4. The convenor must encourage its members to carry out the duties and responsibilities for the development of research committee and college

COMPOSITION AND ROLE OF RESEARCH COMMITTEE MEMBERS

1. The members are selected by Principal
2. The members are selected on the basis of their experience to research and research based activities
3. The members possessing quality for promotion of academic development in the college are preferred
4. He/She should have the ability to encourage and create academic productive environment
5. The members should follow the instructions and activities as and when deem to do so
